Koonis Media is a Somali digital media company that operates an interconnected group of platforms designed to help creators publish, distribute, discover, and monetize content. Our ecosystem includes a video-sharing platform, an audio-sharing platform, and an advertising network, supported by an active social media presence through @KoonisMedia.
Our focus is to build practical digital media tools for Somali audiences and creators, with an emphasis on local payment options, responsible content standards, and experiences that recognize the cost of mobile data in Somalia.

02 | CREATOR PARTNER PROGRAM
Eligibility & Quality Standards
To be eligible for the Koonis Media Partner Program and earn revenue, creators must meet the program’s participation and quality requirements:
- At least 1,000 followers and 2,000 total watch hours.
- Original content only. Re-uploaded or “stolen” clips from TikTok, television, or other sources are not eligible.
- Compliance with Koonis Media’s Cultural & Islamic Content Guidelines and other applicable platform rules.
Koonis Media may review channels and content to confirm eligibility, originality, and ongoing compliance with the program requirements.
Revenue Sharing Model
For advertisements displayed on eligible creator videos, Koonis Media and the creator share net advertising revenue generated through the platform.

03 | RIGHTS, PRODUCT & COMPLIANCE
Content Ownership
Creators retain 100% ownership of the content they publish on Koonis Media. The creator grants Koonis Media a non-exclusive right to use selected highlights or excerpts of their videos for promotional purposes on social media, with the goal of helping grow the creator’s channel.
Optional Priority Publishing / Exclusivity
Koonis Media may offer an optional priority-publishing arrangement for creators who provide eligible content to Koonis Media before publishing the same content on YouTube or Facebook. Under the applicable agreement, this may support an increased revenue share or other partner benefits.

Draft Contract Placeholder The commercial terms for the optional arrangement should be finalized in the creator agreement, including the required lead time, eligible content, and any applicable revenue-share increase. |
Data-Saving Experience
Because mobile data can be expensive in Somalia, the Koonis Media app includes a “Lower Video Quality” setting that allows users to reduce video resolution and help conserve their data bundles.
Local Regulatory Commitment
Koonis Media operates primarily in Somalia and is committed to complying with applicable requirements governing digital communications and media. The platform is designed to operate in alignment with the National Communications Authority (NCA), Somalia’s communications regulator, as applicable to the services we provide.
